The Riley County Attorney is Barry Wilkerson who is elected every four years.
The County Attorney’s Office has five assistant County Attorneys:
Bethany Fields, Deputy
Barry Disney, Sr. Deputy
Their job duties include:
Person crimes - murder, rape, etc
Sexual assault offenses
Domestic violence offenses
Child in Need of Care cases - these cases are confidential so you will never read about them but they are often times serious crimes in which the child’s life may be in immediate danger if the child is not removed from the home through court proceedings.
Various misdemeanor and felony offenses
The Riley County Attorney’s Office works with the Riley County Police Department, the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Wildlife and Parks Department, Kansas State University Police Department, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, in addition to the following Federal Agencies: the DEA, FBI, ATF and the Secret Service.
