Riley County EMS provides outreach to the community through demonstrations, tours and safety awareness programs. RCEMS heads the Coalition for the Kansas Safe Kids program, a statewide childhood injury prevention program whose mission is to protect children from unintentional injuries. Safe Kids Riley County began in 1993 and since that time, has been active promoting child safety. Riley County Police Department, Manhattan Fire Department, Life Choice Ministries and the Riley County Child and Family Resource Center are also part of the Safe Kids program in Riley County.
Safe Kids of Riley County is excited to offer weekly car sear check lanes open to the community. Parents, Caregivers and Childcare Providers are invited to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure the safe travel of children in our community. No appointment is necessary.
